MU Women's Lax Wins Fifth Straight

Olivia Garcia, Erin Baker and Cara Spector scored three goals each to lead the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to a 12-2 win over King's, Wednesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Garcia had three assists, Baker had two and Allie Elmes added a goal and two assists as the Cougars won their fifth straight game to improve to 7-6 overall and 3-3 in the MAC Freedom.

Brianna Ladner led the MU defense with seven ground balls and five caused turnovers while Elmes had five ground balls and two draw controls.

Kate McLoughlin made eight saves in 56 minutes to earn the win in goal.

Baker scored a goal and assisted on two goals by Garcia in a six-minute span to give MU a 3-0 lead 10 minutes into the game.

After a King's goal, Spector and Baker combined for four goals over the final 13 minutes of the first half to stretch the lead to 7-1.

The Cougars scored five unanswered goals in the second half.

MU will travel to Wilkes, Saturday.
