The Misericordia baseball team put up 10 runs in the eighth on their way to a 16-5 victory over Scranton, Wednesday afternoon at Tambur Field.

Mike Comerford went 3-5 with two triples, a double, four RBI and two runs scored.
Chris Boroch was 3-5 with two doubles, two RBI, a walk, a stolen base and three runs scored.
Alec Iurato was 3-4 with a double, a stolen base, four RBI and two runs scored.

Jeremy DeCotiis was 2-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored while
Kyle Lindsay was 3-6 with an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored.
D.J. Navoczynski was 1-3 with two RBI and two runs scored and
Kenny Jarema drew four walks and scored two runs.
Conor Smith was 1-3 while
Al Reda was 1-1 with two runs scored and a walk.

MU got on the board in the bottom of the first. Boroch drew a leadoff walk, two batters later Jarema walked and an Iurato single plated Boroch. Navoczynski flew out to left which scored Jarema to make 2-0.

In the third, Lindsay started things off with a single through the left side. Jarema walked and another Iurato single scored Lindsay to make it 3-0.

Two innings later with Navoczynski standing at first, Comerford smashed a double to left to score Navoczynski. DeCottis mashed a double of his own to left which allowed Comerford to cross the plate and made it 5-0.

Scranton put up five runs in the sixth to tie things up. Misericordia got one back in the seventh.

Iurato was hit by a pitch and then was bunted over to second by Navoczynski.
Mike Comerford blasted a triple to right to put MU back in the lead.

The Cougars had their first ten batters reach safely in the bottom of the eighth as they scored 10 runs on nine hits.

Brett Davis picked up his first win of the year.Â
The win moves Misericordia to 27-10 heading into their game against Wilkes, Friday 3:30.
