Box Score The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped its season opener, 4-2, Thursday night at Gwynedd-Mercy.

Haley Gruber and Kyleigh Knell scored for MU while Kailey Vogl and Suzhaunna Lerch both added assists.

Gruber gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead off a feed from Vogl less than five minutes into the game.

Gwynedd-Mercy went ahead with a pair of goals in less than a minute midway through the first half.

The Griffins scored twice in a six-minute span late in the second half to take a 4-1 lead.

Knell scored her first collegiate goal with less than a minute to play.
