The Misericordia men's soccer team beat York, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Anthony Ippolito and
Chris Edkins each scored goals.
Niko Amity assisted the first one while
Barry Kabinoff assisted the winner.

Misericordia came out aggressive early, with
Ethan Aigeldinger forcing the Spartan keeper to make a save just over a minute into the game. The Cougars drew two corners and took two more shots in the opening ten minutes.

MU got their goal in the 14
th minute. Amity got the ball on the right wing and played a low cross into the middle. The keeper deflected the cross right to a sprinting Edkins who took a touch before blasting the ball into the left side of the goal.

York came right back and scored less than 20 seconds later to make it 1-1.

In the 28
th minute Tristian Wright crossed the ball into the middle where Aigeldinger leapt to meet the ball but his header went wide.

The teams went into the half tied 1-1.

York controlled the early portions of the second half, taking several shots including one that smashed off the crossbar.

In the 62
nd minute, MU got their winner.
Â
Kabinoff slide the ball over to A. Ipppolito who took a touch before he slide a shot past the keeper and into the left corner of the goal.
Matt Smith made three saves in goal for the Cougars.
