The Misericordia men's soccer team earned a hard fought draw 1-1, against #22 Messiah on a chilly Saturday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.
Russell Hines scored the lone goal for MU.
Matt Smith had seven saves in goal for the Cougars.
Messiah struck early, getting to a loose ball and scoring inside the first five minutes of action.

Vincenzo Diliberti took the first shot of the game for MU but it went wide.
In the 19
th minute
Ethan Aigeldinger took the ball from a Falcon defender and played
Anthony Ippolito in on goal but the keeper stopped the Ippolito shot.
The game was played in the midfield over the next 20 minutes, with both team's only shooting one time each.
With the half about to end, MU found their equalizer.
Dante Ippolito hit a low drive into the box that bounced around before it came right to Hines's head and he sent it crashing into the net with nine seconds on the clock.
In the second half MU tightened their defense, only allowing five shots.
With three minutes remaining Messiah got in on goal and hit a low drive that Smith punched away.
In the second overtime, with three minutes to go the Falcons blasted a shot from 18 yards out that Smith smothered to end the threat.
MU will play Lycoming, Wednesday at 7:00.
