The Misericordia University women's volleyball team lost a tough MAC Freedom match to King's College, 3-1 (13-25, 25-15, 14-25, 22-25), Wednesday night at the Anderson Center.

Tara Welliver led the Cougars with 10 kills and five blocks while
Jassmine Watson added nine kills and
Michelle Sehested had seven.

Paige Shaughnessy had six kills, including her 100
th of the season, in her final appearance in the Anderson Center.

Ariana Gagliardi had a team high 26 assists.

After dropping the first set, 25-13, Misericordia took the second set, 25-15.

The Cougars pulled ahead during an 8-2 run, led by consecutive aces by
Sarah Pool.

MU took an early lead in the third set, but after a King's timeout, momentum shifted and King's closed the set on an 8-2 run.

In the fourth set, Misericordia threatened late with a 22-20 lead after a Shaughnessy kill, but after back-to-back errors for the Cougars, the Monarchs capitalized and won the set 25-22.

Misericordia will be at St. Joseph's (LI) for a tri-match, Saturday.
