The Misericordia University men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season with a 2-1 conference victory over Manhattanville, Saturday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Curtis Brewer and
Devin Marriott scored for the Cougars and
Patrick Hoffman made two saves in goal.
Â
The Cougars broke a scoreless tie with a pair of goals a minute apart midway through the second half.
Â
Misericordia scored first off a
Tristan Snyder corner, which was headed by
Dylan Molyneaux and finished by Brewer for his first collegiate goal.
Â
Moments later, Marriott found the back of the net on a breakaway down the left side when he placed a shot inside the right post.
Â
The Valiants cut the lead in half with less than eight minutes remaining.
Â
Hoffman made a tough save on a Manhattanville breakaway when he tipped a shot over the crossbar at the 22-minute mark of the first half.
Â
With 15 minutes left in the first half, MU's
Michael Ciardullo ripped a shot from 25-yards out, but it was right at Manhattanville's goalkeeper.
Â
Hoffman came up big again when he saved the potential game-tying shot with two minutes left in regulation.
