The Misericordia men's soccer team fell to Susquehanna, 1-0 in overtime, Wednesday night in their final non-conference matchup of the season.

Dominic Pizzi made eight saves in his first career start in goal for the Cougars.

The River Hawks scored in the first minute of overtime on a shot by Patrick Bresney.

Both teams struggled to get anything going in the first half with MU's best chance coming in the 24
th minute when
Michael Ciardullo received the ball in the box off a cross by
Cody Rogers, but his ensuing shot was saved by the keeper.

In the second half, Pizzi came up big, making four saves in the first 15 minutes. His biggest save came in the 57
th minute when Eric Dempsey charged toward the net, but Pizzi came out to meet him at the edge of the box before he could get a clean shot off.

Dempsey had another prime scoring chance in the 59
th minute, but his shot went just high.

In the 68
th minute, Misericordia had a chance when
Tristan Snyder sent a free kick into the box, where the Cougars earned a corner kick off a blocked shot by
Dylan Molyneaux. However, the Cougars could not capitalize on
Ethan Benedict's corner as the River Hawks cleared it away.

The Cougars had their best chance of the night in the 75
th minute when Ciardullo sent the ball into the box to an open Rogers, but his one-touch shot went high.

Misericordia had another great chance in the 88
th minute as
Nick Szczerba was taken down just outside the box. Devin Marriot sent the ensuing free kick into the box but Molyneaux's shot was saved.
