The Misericordia University volleyball team lost at DeSales, 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-17), Tuesday night.

Tara Welliver led the Cougars with six kills, two aces and one block while Jassmine Watson had five kills.

Ariana Gagliardi had 12 assists and six digs and Karley May had 11 assists.  Sarah Pool and Kaitlin Wheeler both had 12 digs.

Leading 11-8 in the first set, DeSales used a 6-1 run to take a 17-9 lead.  Watson and Paige Shaugnessy responded with two kills each to get MU within 19-13, but the Cougars never got any closer.

In the second set, DeSales jumped out to a 17-7 lead and cruised to a 25-10 win.

The finale was back-and-forth throughout much of the set with Gagliardi's ace getting the Cougars within 10-8. 

After two MU errors gave DeSales a 12-8 lead, two misplays by the Bulldogs cut the margin to 12-10.

Michelle Sehested's kills and an ace by May got the Cougars within 15-13, but the Bulldogs went on a 7-1 run to take a 22-14 lead.

Misericordia will play at the Lycoming Tournament, Friday and Saturday.
