The Misericordia University field hockey team will open the 2017 MAC Freedom Tournament when the Cougars host Wilkes, Wednesday at 7:00 at Mangelsdorf Field.
 
Misericordia is seeded second after finishing 10-8 overall and tied for first at 6-1 in the MAC Freedom.  Wilkes, 8-9 (4-3 MAC), is the third seed.  Misericordia ended the regular season on a seven-game winning streak, including a 3-1 win at Wilkes a week ago.
 
Top-seeded FDU-Florham will host fourth-seeded DeSales in the other semifinal with the winners to meet Saturday in the championship match.
 
Admission for MAC Freedom championships is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students.  Children under six-years-old are admitted free.  Pets are prohibited at Misericordia University athletics facilities.
 
Misericordia is led by senior forward Colby Eldridge (11g, 8a) with 30 points.  Madisyn Granoski (6g, 4a) has 16 points and Haley Gruber (5g, 5a) adds 15.  Kyleigh Knell and Kailey Vogl both have four goals.
 
Katelyn Campbell has three shutouts and a 2.08 goals against average.
 
Marissa Surdy (9g, 6a) leads Wilkes with 24 points while Megan Kane (7g, 7a) and Haley Gayoski (7g, 4a) add 21 and 18 points, respectively.  Ali Dunn (6g, 3a) adds 15 points.
 
Dallas Kendra has two shutouts and a 2.35 goals against average.
