The Misericordia University women's basketball won for the third straight time with a 69-45 win over Washington College, Tuesday afternoon at the Cruzin Classic in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Paige Wampole led the Cougars with 12 points and
Japriya Carroll added 10 as 12 different players scored for MU.
Jaclyn Hajec added nine points and a team-high seven rebounds and
Kalynn Sefcik and
Rachel Carmody both added eight points.
Up 13-11, the Cougars took control with an 8-0 run over the final 2:48 of the first quarter.
Following a free throw by Wampole, Sefcik added a putback and
Quintessa Zamolyi drilled a three-pointer for a 19-11 lead.
Leanne Forsyth ended the run with a layup and the Cougars took a 21-11 lead at the end of one period.
Forsyth's jumper midway through the second period gave MU a 25-14 lead and the Cougars maintained a double digit lead the rest of the way.
The Cougars, 4-4, will face Mary Washington College, Wednesday at noon in Fort Lauderdale.
