Jason Kenny scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures as the Misericordia University men's basketball team defeated St. Joseph's (VT), 102-77, in the consolation game of the Doc Greene Tournament, Saturday afternoon at Juniata.
Kenny, who was named to the All-Tournament team, was joined in double figures by
Tre Fields and
Stone McCreary, who both had 14 points.Â
Noah Rivera added 12 points and 10 rebounds and
Tony Harding had 11 points.
The Cougars jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never looked back as St. Joseph's didn't get closer than five points after opening five minutes.
Tyerell Mann hit back-to-back three-pointers to give MU a 22-10 lead with 12:38 left in the first half and the Cougars maintained a double digit lead the rest of the way.
A three-point play by Harding capped a 13-0 run to put MU up, 32-10, midway through the first half.
Fields hit a three-pointer to close out the first half to give the Cougars a 52-29 lead.
McCreary hit back-to-back three-pointers midway through the second half as the Cougars took their biggest lead of the night, 78-39.
Misericordia, 5-5, is off until a road trip to Dickinson, December 30.
