The Misericordia women's basketball team earned their first home victory of the season with a 77-32 win over SUNY-Canton, Saturday afternoon at the Anderson Center.

Japriya Carroll scored a team-high 16 points and
Rachel Carmody added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Leanne Forsyth did a little bit of everything for the Cougars notching three points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals.

The Cougars allowed just 10 points in the second half, including only two points in a quarter for the second straight game, and shot a season best 50% from the field.

Carroll made three consecutive three-pointers during a 14-0 run to close out the first quarter with a 22-9 lead. SUNY-Canton cut the Cougars lead to eight halfway through the second quarter, but layups from
Paige Wampole and Carroll to close out the half gave the Cougars a 37-22 lead.

Carmody opened the second half by converting a tough right-handed hook shot in the post.

Misericordia dominated the rest of the quarter scoring a season-record 31 points in the third while holding SUNY-Canton to just two points.

The Cougars will play Washington College, December 19 in Fort Lauderdale, FL as part of the Cruzin' Classic.
