The Misericordia University women's basketball team jumped out to a quick lead and cruised to an 80-38 lead over Penn College, Monday night in Williamsport.
Liz Waleski tied a career-high with 18 points to lead for MU players in double figures.Â
Rachel Carmody had 14 points and
Justine Seely added 11.Â
Leanne Forsyth had 10 points, five assists and four steals and
Paige Wampole had a game-high 14 rebounds and three blocked shots.
Seely opened the game with a three-point play and the Wildcats tied it with a three-pointer. The Cougars answered with 10 straight points and then closed the first period on a 13-0 run to take a 26-5 lead.
After Penn opened the third quarter with a three-pointer, the Cougars went on a 12-2 run and led 56-30 heading to the final quarter.
MU opened the fourth period with 11 unanswered points to take a 67-30 lead.
The Cougars won for the eighth time in nine games, including their fifth straight, to improve to 15-6. Misericordia will host King's, Wednesday at 6:00.
