Liz Mulvey scored three goals to lead the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to a 10-7 win over Arcadia, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Amy Roth scored twice and
Olivia Garcia added a goal and two assists.
Kaila Quinlivan had a goal and an assist while
Emily Connell,
Lexee Willey and
Ashley Hobbs all scored a goal.
Katie McLoughlin made nine saves in goal as the Cougars won their fourth straight game to improve to 5-2.
Brianna Ladner had three caused turnovers and two draw controls while Quinlivan added two caused two turnovers and two draw controls.
Rachael Taylor had three caused turnovers.
Arcadia took a 1-0 lead less than five minutes into the game before Quinlivan tied it on a free position shot less than a minute later.
The Knights quickly regained the lead, but Roth answered with a spin move from the right flank and fired a shot inside the left post to pull MU even with 21:39 to play in the first half.
Mulvey gave the Cougars their first lead with a pair of goals in a 17-second span.
After finishing a feed from Taylor on the right wing to give MU a 3-2 lead, Mulvey took a pass from Garcia and placed a shot in the bottom right corner of the net as she fell to the ground in front of the goal.
Arcadia pulled even, but the Cougars went ahead for good with three straight goals late in the first half.
Connell drove the line and bounced a shot inside the right post for a 5-4 lead with 10:27 to go.
Roth juked two defenders from the right wing and fired a shot in front to make it 6-4.
Hobbs finished the spurt with a shot inside the low left post for a 7-4 lead with 1:53 to play in the first half.
Arcadia cut the lead to 7-5 with a goal in the closing seconds of the opening half.
Mulvey cut in front of the net and redirected a lob pass from Garcia inside the left post to give MU an 8-5 lead early the second half.
After an Arcadia goal with 21:20 remaining, Garcia answered just over two minutes later when she drove from the left flank, pulled up in the middle of the lane and bounced a shot in for a 9-6 lead.
McLoughlin made a big save on a one-on-one shot with 18:30 to go and stopped a free position shot with 17:00 minutes left.
Arcadia got a goal back with 11:14 left, but Willee converted a turnover into a goal with 8:27 to play. With the Knights' goalie near midfield, Willee intercepted a pass and out ran the defense before burying a shot into the empty net.
