The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team jumped out to big lead and never looked back in a 20-8 win over Wilkes, Tuesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Liz Mulvey scored three times in the opening 11 minutes as the Cougars took a 9-0 lead.
Mulvey led the Cougars with five goals and three assists while
Kaila Quinlivan added four goals and three assists.
Kate Raab added four goals and
Ashley Hobbs scored twice.
Olivia Garcia had a goal, three assists and four draw controls.
Emily Connell and
Kelly Saroka each had a goal and an assist and
Lexee Willey and
Amy Roth both scored once.
Bri Ladner had five caused turnovers, four draw controls and four ground balls while
Amanda Rackliff and
Taylor Simeone had three ground balls each.
Quinlivan had six draw controls and four ground balls and Mulvey added four ground balls.
Katie McLoughlin and
Alli McElheran combined for five saves in goal.
After MU raced out to an early lead, Wilkes scored five times over the final 20 minutes of the first half and the Cougars led 11-5 at intermission.
The Cougars scored five straight goals to open the second half to build a 16-5 lead with 23:13 remaining.
Wilkes got a goal back two minutes later, but that's as close as they got as Connell and Quinlivan answered with goals to give MU an 18-6 lead.
Misericordia won for the seventh straight time to improve to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the MAC Freedom.
