The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team rewarded head coach
Jim Ricardo with his 100
th career victory with a 20-10 win at Wilkes, Wednesday afternoon.
Pat Kellish had five goals and five assists and
Sean McSwiggan scored six goals to lead the Cougars.
Phil Fraher added a goal and three assists and
Brandon Winslow scored twice.
Matt Beck,
Antonio Whyte and
Bryan DeGennaro combined for 10 saves in goal with Beck earning the win.
Ryan Romaine had 10 face-off wins and five ground balls and
Kevin Loesch added five ground balls. Pat Kellish,
Chris Fleming and
Michael Iglio all had four ground balls while
Alec Kellish and
John Tierney both had two caused turnovers.
Winslow and McSwiggan both sandwiched a pair of first quarter goals around a score by Pat Kellish as the Cougars took a 5-0 lead with 3:55 left in the opening period.
Wilkes scored twice in the closing minutes of the first quarter, but the Cougars responded with 11 unanswered goals in the second quarter to take a 16-2 halftime lead.
Misericordia improved to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the MAC Freedom. The Cougars will host King's, Wednesday at 7:00 at Mangelsdorf Field.
