Pat Kellish and
Chris Fleming combined for 12 points to lead the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team to a 14-6 win over King's, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Kellish had four goals and two assists and Fleming added three goals and three assists while
Sean McSwiggan added three goals.
Michael Iglio scored twice and
Brandon Winslow had two assists.
Matt Beck made eight saves in goal as the Cougars won their fourth straight to improve 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the MAC Freedom.
The Cougars were 4-7 in man-up situations and killed off 10 man-down scenarios, including a pair of shorthanded goals.
Paul Hanrahan had five ground balls and three caused turnovers and
John Tierney had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Fleming took a pass from Winslow along the baseline and placed a shot in the upper right corner to give MU a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the game.
Pat DeMichele drove across the middle of the lane to make it 2-0 midway through the period.
After King's pulled even late in the quarter, Iglio came from behind the net and whipped a low shot inside the left post to put MU back in front, 3-2.
King's tied with 1:11 to go in the period, but Fleming scored twice in the final 30 seconds to give the Cougars a 5-3 lead after one quarter.
Kellish converted a pair of ground balls into goals on shots near the left post on back-to-back plays early in the second quarter and scored his third straight goal just seconds into a man-up opportunity for an 8-3 lead.
King's answered with two quick goals and trailed 8-5 at halftime.
The Cougars regained control with four unanswered goals, including three man-up tallies, in the third quarter.
McSwiggan added a pair of shorthanded goals in the fourth quarter.
Misericordia will visit FDU-Florham, Saturday.
