The Misericordia University baseball team dropped an 8-3 non-conference decision at Arcadia, Tuesday.
Kenny Jarema had three hits for the Cougars while
Conor Smith,
Sean Lyons and
Jeremy DeCotiis all had two hits.
Santo Guinta,
Billy Kerwien and
Parker Abate drove in runs for MU.
Trailing 1-0, the Cougars pulled even in the top of the fourth. Lyons led off with a single to center and took second on a passed ball. He advanced to third on ground out and scored on Guinta's sacrifice fly to center.
After Arcadia scored four times in the bottom of the fifth, the Cougars got two back in the top of the sixth.
Lyons again started the inning with a single and moved to second on
Jeremy DeCotiis' single through the right side. Guinta and Abate drew back-to-back walks to force in a run and Abate's sac fly to center drove in another. The Knights induced a double play to escape further damage.
Arcadia answered with a pair of runs in their half of the sixth.
Misericordia, 18-8, will host Stevens, Wednesday.
