The Misericordia University baseball team dropped a non-league contest at Widener, 9-5, Wednesday.
Kenny Jarema had two hits and two RBI and
Tyler Holzapfel had two hits, including a solo homer. Billy Kerwein added two hits and
Gavin Sudano had two RBI.
Widener scored twice in the bottom of the first, but the Cougars answered with three runs in the top of the second.
Alec St. Pier drew a lead-off walk and moved to second on
Jeremy DeCotiis' single up the middle. After
Steve Weisensee singled to load the bases, Sudano drove in two runs with a single to right center. Jarema added an RBI-single through the left side.
Widener moved back in front with three runs in the fourth.
The Cougars added a run in the sixth on Holzapfel's solo homer and Jarema drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
The Cougars will return to MAC Freedom play at Wilkes, Friday.
