The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team's hopes for a MAC Freedom championship ended with a 14-3 loss at FDU-Florham in Saturday's title game.
The Devils jumped out to a 9-1 lead as they defeated the Cougars in the final for the third straight season.
Amy Roth,
Lexee Willey and
Ashley Hobbs scored goals for the Cougars while
Kaila Quinlivan had an assist.Â
Bri Ladner had three draw controls.
Katie McLoughlin had 10 saves and three ground balls and Quinlivan, Roth, Willey and
Rachael Taylor all had two ground balls.
FDU-Florham scored the game's first three goals before Roth tallied unassisted with 22:26 to go in the first half.
The Devils scored six goals over the final 15:12 of the half to take a 9-1 lead.
Willey opened the second half scoring with an assist from Quinlivan less two minutes into the half, but FDU answered with five goals over the next 20 minutes.
Hobbs closed the scoring with one minute remaining.
The Cougars finished the season 12-4.
