The Misericordia University men's soccer team lost a tough 1-0 contest to Arcadia, Saturday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.
The lone goal came on a header off an Arcadia corner early in the second half.
The Cougars controlled much of the play in the early going and had the best scoring opportunity of the first half on a penalty kick.
MU had back-to-back close range shots blocked in the 29
th minute and the Knights were called for an infraction in the scramble for the rebound.
The Arcadia keeper made a kick save near the left post on the ensuing penalty kick to keep the game scoreless.
The Cougars had two more chances in the moments after the Arcadia goal, with one shot being saved and the other being just wide of the goal.
MU held a 9-8 edge in shots while Arcadia had six corners to five for the Cougars.
Patrick Hoffman made two saves for Misericordia.
The Cougars will host Scranton, Tuesday at 7:00 at Mangelsdorf Field.
