The Misericordia University women's volleyball team split a tri-match on Senior Appreciation Day, Saturday afternoon in the Anderson Center.
After dropping a tough 3-2 (18-25, 25-14, 26-24, 22-25, 9-15) decision to Mt. St. Mary, the Cougars ended the day on a winning note with a 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 25-19) win over John Jay.

Despite a late comeback in opener against Mt. St. Mary, the Cougars dropped the first set 25-18, but won the next two.
An out of turn serve cost the Cougars two points in a pivotal fourth set which they lost 25-22.
Mount Saint Mary took control of the fifth set and won 15-9.
Karley May set a new career high with 29 assists while
Coleby Charlier led the Cougars with 16 kills and three blocks.
In the second set, the Cougars went on a 9-1 and never looked back. Charlier closed out the set with a kill assisted by May.
The third set went back and forth with no team pulling away until the Cougars scored five consecutive points to go ahead 21-17. Mount Saint Mary was able to tie the game up at 23 and again at 24 before back-to-back kills by Paige Shaugnessy and Charlier secured the set for the Cougars.
A six-point run in the fifth set gave Mount Saint Mary a commanding 7-2 lead, which they never looked back from, winning the set 15-9.
In their second match of the day, the Cougars were led by
Michelle Sehested's 11 kills.
Ariana Gagliardi led the Cougars with 28 assist.
The Cougars were able to win the first set 25-20, but lost the next one to John Jay, 25-22.
After an early Misericordia timeout, the Cougars went on a 12-1 run to make the score 19-12. During that run, Sehested had two kills, and the Cougars won the set 25-18.
The Cougars went on to win the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.
Misericordia, 10-10, will be at DeSales on Tuesday for a conference match-up.
