The Misericordia University men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 2-0 decision to Lebanon Valley in their home opener, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
 After MU missed two great scoring chances in the final minute of the first half, the Dutchmen struck twice early in the second half.
 Patrick Hoffman made seven saves in goal.
 Hoffman made a diving stop near the right post to preserve the tie late in the first half.
 John Caracappa gave MU its two best chances off the night in the final minute of the first half.
 He grounded a shot through the box that forced the Dutchmen keeper to make a diving save at the right post.
 Caracappa gathered a loose ball off the ensuing corner and ripped a shot that was punched away.
 MU will host Arcadia, Saturday at 6:00.
