Rachel Carmody had her third straight double-double, but it wasn't enough as the Misericordia University women's basketball team fell at Delaware Valley, 65-59, Saturday afternoon.
Carmody had 11 points and 10 rebounds and
Quintessa Zamolyi had 11 points.Â
Jordan Barth had 10 points and nine rebounds and
Japriya Carroll added 10 points.
The Aggies used a big third quarter, including a 17-7 run, to take a 49-39 lead late in the period.
After falling behind by 14 points, 60-46, with 4:20 to play, the Cougars made a late charge.
Erica Haefele converted a three-point play as part of five straight points and Zamolyi hit a three-pointer to get MU within 60-54 with 2:39 to go.
Carmody and Barth combined for three free throws to cut the deficit to three, 60-57, with 1:09 remaining, but the Aggies converted five free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Misericordia, 8-6 (1-2 MAC Freedom), will host King's, Wednesday at 8:00.
