The Misericordia University women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision to DeSales, Wednesday night in the Anderson Center.
The Cougars took the opener, 25-21, but DeSales rallied to win the next two sets, 25-21, 25-22.
Misericordia won 29-27 to force a fifth set which DeSales won 14-6.
Jassmine Watson had 15 kills and 14 digs for the Cougars while
Sarah Pool had 15 kills, 13 digs and three aces.
Tara Welliver had 13 kills.
Karley May had 48 assists and five aces and
Kaitlin Wheeler had 15 digs.
The Cougars took a 5-1 lead in the opener thanks to a pair of aces by May.
MU built a 13-7 lead and held off a late DeSales rally.
Pool had back-to-back kills for a 23-20 lead and
Jessica Oltman closed the set with a kill and an ace.
MU jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the third set and eventually led 20-15 before DeSales scored nine of 10 points to take a 24-21 lead.
The Cougars came from behind to win the fourth set with Pool sandwiching a kill and an ace around a DeSales attack error for a 29-27 win.
In the finale, DeSales took a quick 7-0 lead.
The Cougars used a 5-0 run to get within 8-6, but the Bulldogs scored the next seven points to close out the match.
Misericordia plays at Valley Forge, Thursday.
