Box Score The Misericordia University men's soccer team lost to Dickinson College, 5-1, Tuesday at Miller Memorial Field following a 55-minute weather delay.
After an early Red Devils score, Ethan Aigeldinger answered with an equalizer in the 25th minute for his first goal of the season.
The Cougars and Red Devils went into halftime knotted at one goal apiece. Both teams registered two shots on goal in the first 45-minutes of play.
Misericordia threatened early in the second half with a couple quality scoring chances. In the 49th minute, Charles Gugel ripped a shot from the right side that was punched over the crossbar by the Red Devils' goalkeeper. On the ensuing corner kick, John Caracappa played a perfect ball to Aigeldinger who headed a shot just wide past the near post.
Andrew Daubenspeck made his first career start for the Cougars. He made several diving saves throughout the night including an athletic stop on a Tayler Eynon free kick toward the near post.
Moments later, Daubenspeck made another key save to deny Colin Fagan. The first-year keeper finished the contest with six saves.
After an early Cougars rush to start the second half, the Red Devils' offense responded with four unanswered goals. Kevin Gilbert and Brendan McGovern tallied two goals on the night while Frederick Cisse added on another score.
Misericordia dropped to 2-7-1 on the season and will host King's College on Saturday at 7:30 during Homecoming Weekend.
