Tara Welliver had big nights to lead the Misericordia University women's volleyball team to a 3-1 MAC Freedom win at Manhattanville, Tuesday.

Oltman had 17 kills, three aces and two blocks and Welliver had 16 kills and two blocks for the Cougars.

Sarah Pool had 13 kills and 14 digs and
Karley May had 57 assists.

Jassmine Watson had 22 digs and
Kaitlin Wheeler added 14.

The Cougars took the opener, 25-23, but Manhattanville rallied to win the second set, 26-24.

MU took the next two, 25-23, 25-18.

The teams traded points throughout the opening set with the Cougars eventually taking a 23-19 lead by Welliver and Pool.

The Valiants scored four straight points to pull even, but a kill by a pool and a ball handling error clinched the set for MU.

Manhattanville broke an 18-18 tie with a 6-1 run to take a 24-19 lead in the second set.

Two kills and a block by
Amanda Curcio and an ace by Watson keyed a 5-0 run as the Cougars tied it, 24-24.

Manhattanville followed with a kill and an MU attack error ended the set.

MU led throughout much of the third set before the Valiants used an 8-3 run to take a 23-21 lead.

Pool's kill and three M-Ville errors gave the Cougars a hard-fought 25-23 win.

In the clincher, the Cougars got three kills from Welliver as part of a 6-1 to end the match.

The Cougars (13-8, 3-1) will play a tri-match with Clarks Summit at Keystone, Thursday.
