Erica Haefele added 11 points and Tessa Zamolyi and Paige Wampole added 10 points each.

Zamolyi added nine rebounds and five steals.

Salve used a 10-0 run over a two-minute span to take a 22-11 lead late in the first quarter.

Carroll converted a steal by Zamolyi with a three-pointer from the right wing to ignite an MU spurt to end the opening period.

Zamolyi followed with a three-pointer from the left corner and Carmody scored a tough bucket underneath off an inbounds pass to get the Cougars with 22-19 after 10 minutes of play.

The teams traded the lead throughout the second period before Carmody's reverse layup off an inbounds pass from Kaylnn Sefcik put the Cougars in front for good, 33-32, with less than a minute to play in the second period.

Wampole's short turn-around jumper to open the second half gave the Cougars a 35-32 and Carroll converted a steal at mid-court to a layup at the other end.

Carmody's putback gave the Cougars a 43-34 lead with 6:49 left in the third quarter.

Haefele's driving layup and a fast-break finish by Carmody stretched the MU lead to 47-36 with 4:07 to play in the third.

Salve got within 47-43 with 2:00 to play, but Carroll banked in three-pointer from just inside half-court to beat the third quarter buzzer for a 53-46 advantage.

Haefele made four free throws and Zamolyi converted a three-point play to MU in front, 61-46, with 6:57 remaining and the Cougars never looked back.
