The Misericordia women's lacrosse team earned their first home victory of the season with a 19-12 win over Marywood, Thursday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Olivia Garcia led the Cougars with six goals to move into eighth place on MU's all-time scoring list with 145 career points.

Kaila Quinlivan added three goals and four assists and
Kate Raab found the back of the net four times.

Emily Connell led the team with six draw controls.

The Cougar's second-half defense shut down Marywood, only allowing three goals on eight shots, to break open a 10-9 game.

Nicole Winter led the defense with five caused turnovers and
Brianna Ladner had three caused turnovers and five draw controls.

Raab found the back of the net from a Connell pass 26 seconds into the game.

Marywood tied the score, three minutes later, but the Cougars regained the lead for good just 40 seconds later. Consecutive goals from Garcia pushed the lead to 4-1 just over seven minutes into the game.

The Pacers scored three goals in a two-minute span to cut the Cougar lead to one with just over five minutes left in the first half.

After a free position goal from Connell, the Cougars went into halftime up 10-9.

The Cougars opened the second half with five straight goals, including two more from Garcia.

Marywood responded with three consecutive goals but the comeback attempt wasn't enough, as the tough defense and solid goalkeeping from
Tori Hodges shut down the Pacers in the second half.

Misericordia will travel to Clearwater, FL, to play Moravian, March 6 at 4:00, and SUNY Oneonta, March 8 at 11:00 am.
