Paul Hanrahan had five goals and an assist as the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team remained undefeated with a 13-11 win at Stockton, Saturday afternoon.
Phil Fraher added two goals and an assist and
Brandon Winslow had two goals while
Patrick Kellish,
Chris Fleming,
Patrick Luzzi and
Michael Iglio all scored once.
Matt Beck made 13 saves to earn the win in goal.
Ryan Romaine was 14-27 on face-offs and had a team-high seven groundballs while
John Tierney had four groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Stockton opened the scoring early in the first quarter and Hanrahan answered with an unassisted goal.
Following to Stockton tallies, Hanrahan ignited a 5-0 run with another unassisted goal with 3:43 left in the first quarter. Iglio and Luzzi scored less than a minute apart and the Cougars led 4-3 after one period.
Fraher and Hanrahan scored the only goals of the second quarter to give MU a 6-3 lead at halftime.
The Ospreys scored three times early in the third quarter to pull within 7-6 before Winslow answered with a goal.
Fraher made it 9-6 with 7:31 to go in the third and Kellish followed with a man-up goal with 7:00 left.
Stockton scored three times over the final 4:15 to cut MU's lead to 10-9 after three periods.
Hanrahan struck early in the fourth quarter for an 11-9 lead, but Stockton scored two straight, including a man-up goal with 6:57 remaining, to tie the score, 11-11.
Fleming put the Cougars back in front with 5:09 to go and Hanrahan added an insurance goal with 2:12 to play.
Misericordia is 6-0 and will host Neumann, Tuesday at 4:00.
