Patrick Kellish registered his 200th career point as the Misericordia men's lacrosse team defeated Neumann, 20-7, Tuesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field to remain undefeated and improve to 7-0.
Kellish scored his milestone point as part of a five-goal performance to extend his team lead to 29 goals for the season. The senior is also now just 10 points from the all-time record of 212, set by Sean Collins in 2007.
The Cougars used a balanced attack to cruise to victory with nine different players scoring goals, including three each from Phil Fraher, Patrick Luzzi and Brandon Winslow. Fraher, Chris Fleming and Jake Kocovsky also tallied two assists for MU.
Matthew Beck allowed just two goals in 45 minutes while making five saves.
Misericordia jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first nine minutes of the game, getting three from Winslow and one each from Fraher, two from Luzzi and one each from Fraher and Hanrahan.
After Neumann got on the board 4:59 left, Fleming answered back just over a minute later when he was wide open in front of the net and took a pass from Kocovsky before firing it into the lower left corner of the net. Fraher and Kellish each added a goal before the period was up to take a 10-1 lead after one.
Kellish, Luzzi and Robert Wagner each scored in the second period as they took a 13-2 lead into the break.
Kellish scored his milestone goal in the third as he took a shot from the left side that found its way into the back of the net thanks to some miscommunication from the Knights defense.
Sean McSwiggan scored the only goal for MU in the fourth to give the Cougars 20 goals for the third time this season.
Misericordia will wrap up its non-conference season when they play at Scranton, April 4 at 6:00.
