The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team opened its MAC Freedom schedule with a 7-2 win at DeSales, Saturday.
Chris Fleming scored twice and
Brandon Winslow had a goal and two assists.
Paul Hanrahan and
Patrick Luzzi each added a goal and an assist as the Cougars improved to 8-0.
Nick Torzilli and
Robert Wagner both scored goals.
Matt Beck made 17 saves in goal and
Patrick Newins had five ground balls while
Ryan Romaine won nine of 12 face-offs.
DeSales took a 2-0 lead midway through the first quarter, but the MU defense pitched a shutout the rest of the way.
Winslow got the Cougars on the board with 5:21 to play in the first quarter and Torzilli scored a man-up goal early in the second quarter.
Luzzi put MU in front early in the third quarter and Fleming and Wagner scored less than a minute apart for a 5-2 lead with 6:14 to go in the third period.
Fleming made it 6-2 late in the third and Hanrahan closed the scoring early in the fourth.
MU will visit Eastern, Wednesday.
