The Misericordia University baseball team lost to LaRoche, 11-5, Monday morning in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Santo Guinta blasted a two-run homer for the Cougars and
Cole Bixler and
Sean Boylan had two hits.

LaRoche took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second and the Cougars pulled even in the top of the fifth. After Boylan led off the inning with a double,
Adam Concadoro walked and both runners moved up on a sacrifice bunt. Boylan scored on
Conor Smith's sacrifice fly.

MU went ahead 5-1 with four runs in the sixth inning. Bixler started the inning with a single and Guinta followed with a two-run homer.Â

Shane Hughes was hit by a pitch and moved to third on a pair of wild pitches.Â
Parker Abate walked and took third on an error with Hughes scoring. Boylan's sacrifice fly made it 5-1.

LaRoche answered with five runs in the bottom of the sixth and added five more over the next two innings.

MU, 3-2, will face Immaculata, Tuesday at noon.
