Amy Roth scored seven goals to lead the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to a 19-8 win over Eastern, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Olivia Garcia and
Shae O'Leary both had two goals and two assists and
Emily Connell scored three goals.
Kaila Quinlivan scored twice and
Kate Raab,
Lexee Willey and Meaghan Whalen all added goals.
Tori Hodges made four saves over the first 45 minutes in goal.
Misericordia improved to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in the MAC Freedom.
Bri Ladner had seven draw controls and five ground balls while Connell and Quinlivan had three draw controls each.
Amanda Rackliff added five ground balls.
Roth opened the scoring with a free position goal just under five minutes into the game.
Eastern answered with a free position goal less than 20 seconds later and MU answered with nine straight goals over a 13-minute span to take a 10-1 lead late in the first half.
Roth dodged a couple defenders in front of the net to start the spurt at 22:12 and Quinlivan added a free position goal a minute later.
Eastern scored with 2:04 left in the first half and MU lead 10-2 at intermission.
Sarah Bender scooped up a loose ball and fed Connell in front to open the second half scoring just over a minute into the half.
Quinlivan drove from the top of the circle for a goal and Roth took a pass in front, juked a defender, and placed a shot under the bar to make it 13-2.
The Cougars built a 17-3 lead before Eastern scored five goals late in the second half.
Misericordia improved to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in the MAC Freedom. The Cougars will visit Delaware Valley, Saturday.
