Amy Roth had three goals and eight assists to lead the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team to a 19-3 win over Medaille, Wednesday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.
Kaila Quinlivan added four goals and an assist and
Lexee Willey scored four goals as the Cougars improved to 12-8.Â
Bri Ladner had 10 draw controls and two ground balls and Quinlivan added five draw controls.
Emily Connell and
Shae O'Leary added two goals each for the Cougars.
Medaille opened the scoring with a free position goal in the opening minute, but the Cougars with 14 straight goals over a 20-minute span.
Connell pulled the Cougars even with a give-and-go goal from Roth with 27:39 to go.
Roth caused a turnover deep in the Medaille end and found Connell in front for a 2-1 lead.
Roth drove from the right flank and scored and then found Quinlivan in front where she used a spin move before bouncing a shot in for a 4-1 lead with 24:30 left in the first half.
Kate Raab dodged two defenders near the left post for MU's fifth goal.
Willey scored four straight goals to stretch the lead to 12-1 with 11:43 to go in the first half.
O'Leary used a nice spin move on the left base line to score and Meaghan Whalen placed a shot inside the right post to make it 14-1 with 7:00 remaining before halftime.
Sarah Espe scored twice in the closing minutes for Medaille to cut MU's lead to 14-3 at intermission.
Quinlivan scored twice in the second half and Roth added three more assists as the Cougars cruised to victory.
MU will play Marywood in the ECAC semifinals, Saturday at 11:00 am at Stockton.
