The Misericordia University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Elizabethtown at the Blue Jay Classic, Friday.
Amanda Curcio had nine kills to lead the Cougars while Tara Welliver had eight blocks, six kills and two aces.
Jassmine Watson had six kills, 10 digs and two blocks.
Karley May had 30 assists and three aces and Katlin Wheeler and Mikayla Gunkle had nine and eight digs, respectively.
E-Town took the first two sets, 25-20, 25-16 before the Cougars claimed the third set, 25-23. The Blue Jays closed the match with a 25-13 win.
Elizabethtown used an 8-0 to build a 13-5 lead in the first set and eventually stretched the lead to 23-15.
Aces by Welliver and Sarah Pool keyed a 5-1 run to get MU within 24-20, but the Blue Jays closed the set with a kill on the next point.
The Cougars scored three straight points to get within 15-14 in the second set, but E-Town answered with a 6-0 run to take a 21-14 lead. Elizabethtown ended the set with three straight points.
In a back-and-forth third set, E-Town eventually took a 22-18 lead, but the Cougars went on a 7-1 run to close out a 25-23 win.
Welliver and Pool combined for three kills as the Cougars pulled even, 23-23.  Pool put MU ahead with an ace and Welliver and Watson clinched the win with a block.
The Cougars, 7-3, will face Alfred and Cairn, Saturday.
