The Misericordia University women's volleyball team picked up a pair of wins in a tri-match with Immaculata and Alfred while celebrating Senior Appreciation Day, Saturday afternoon in the Anderson Center.

MU won the opener against Immaculata, 3-0, and defeated Alfred, 3-0, to cap off the day.

Against Immaculata
Tara Welliver tallied a team high 12 kills and
Fiona Pyfer added six.

Karley May racked up 30 assists and four digs.
Â
Alexa Santoro had four aces and six digs while fellow senior
Jassmine Watson totaled four aces and five digs.

The Cougars jumped out to an early 8-1 lead in the first set courtesy of some strong serving by Santoro, Watson then jumped in and helped push the lead to 15-3.

In the second match of the day
Faith Merritt led the team with eight kills and Welliver tacked on six.

May ended up with 25 assists, six aces and seven digs while
Alexa Monro added six digs.

Pyfer smashed a ball across court untouched for the Cougars' first point in the second set to start an eight-point rally and put them up 8-1.

Misericordia is 17-12 overall will host MAC Freedom opponent King's, Tuesday at 7 p.m.Â
