The Misericordia University women's basketball team improved to 3-0 with a 60-52 win over Dickinson, Wednesday night at the Anderson Center.

Tessa Zamolyi had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Erica Haefele added 13 points.  Gianna Delfino had six points and 10 rebounds.

Haefele hit back-to-back three-pointers to give the Cougars a 54-51 lead with 1:17 to play and the Cougars made five free throws in the final 21 seconds.

Misericordia used an 11-0 run late in the first quarter to take a 13-3 lead.

Alyssa Bondi hit a foul line jumper and Jordan Barth finished a nice feed from Delfino for a 6-3 lead.  Zamolyi's steal led to a Haefele layup and she converted another steal on her own for a 10-3 lead with 4:58 to play.

Nora Tracey finished the run with a short turnaround jumper on the right block for a 13-3 lead with 3:28 to go.

The Red Devils rallied to within 15-10 at the end of the first quarter.

Barth drained a three-pointer from the top of the key early in the second period to give MU an 18-23 lead.

After Dickinson cut the MU lead to 20-19, Haefele buried a deep three-pointer from the right wing and Alyssa Bondi hit one from in front of the Red Devils' bench to make it 26-23 with 1:30 to go.

Zamolyi drained a three-pointer from the same to give the Cougars a 29-26 lead at halftime.

Delfino drained a three-pointer from the left corner to put MU ahead, 34-31, early in the third quarter, but the Red Devils rallied to take a 42-40 lead after three periods.

Trailing 48-42 with 5:23 to play, Morgan Haefele's driving layup and Zamolyi's three-pointer from the right wing got the Cougars within 48-47.

E. Haefele drilled the game-tying three-pointer from in front of the MU bench with 1:57 to go and then put the Cougars in front for good from the left corner with 1:17 remaining.

Misericordia will host Mt. St. Mary, Saturday at 1:00.
