The Misericordia men's soccer team ended the regular season with a 3-1 win over DeSales on Senior Appreciation Day, Saturday at Mangelsdorf.
After honoring Nick Szczerba, Levi Roberts, Jared Houser and Patrick Hoffman pre-game, the Cougars clinched the third seed in MAC Freedom Tournament.
Nick Szczerba, Eric Barczyk and Cody Rogers each scored for the Cougars while John Caracappa added an assist.
Szczerba gave the Cougars the lead in the 14th minute when he beat the keeper to a loose ball and ripped a shot inside the left post.
After DeSales tied the score in the 57th minute, Caracappa found Barczyk 10 yards out in the middle of the field where turned and fired a shot inside the right post to regain the lead five minutes later.
Rodgers put the game away with less than 30 seconds remaining after he gathered a loose ball and snuck a shot inside the right post for a 3-1 lead.
Dominic Pizzi made five saves in goal.
Szczerba nearly scored in the sixth minute after Charles Gugel sent a pass across the goal and he headed the ball towards the left post but his shot was saved.
Houser blasted a shot from 15 yards out seven minutes into the second half that bounced off the left post.
Misericordia will play at Eastern in the MAC Freedom semifinals, Wednesday at 2:00.
