The Misericordia University women's basketball team used a big second half to cruise to an 86-58 win at Keystone, Monday night.
Jordan Barth scored 15 of her game-high 27 points as part of a 17-3 run to open the third quarter and
Tessa Zamolyi had 18 points and 20 rebounds as the Cougars improved to 6-0.
Erica Haefele had 11 points and six assists and
Madison Borum added 10 points.
The Cougars used a 7-0 run late in the first period to take a 22-14 lead.
Haefele made a pair of free throws and Barth followed with a layup and two free throws before
Elizabeth Fasti closed the run with a free throw with 1:11 left in the period.
Keystone answered with five straight points in the final minute to get within 22-19 after one quarter.
The Giants opened the second quarter with nine straight points to take a 28-22 lead and led 35-31 at halftime.
Barth scored MU's first 15 points of the second half and
Emma Hayes added a layup as the Cougars took a 48-38 lead just over three minutes into the third period.
Haefele nailed a three-pointer and
Nora Tracey five points in less than a minute to give MU a 59-43 lead with :46 to play in the third quarter.
Morgan Haefele added a free throw and the Cougars led 60-43 heading to the final stanza.
Erica Haefele opened the fourth quarter with a three-pointer and Zamolyi converted a three-point play as the Cougars stretched the lead to 70-45 with 5:58 to play.
Borum scored a pair of buckets and Tracy added a layup as the Cougars took their biggest lead of the night, 84-52, with 1:30 remaining.
Misericordia will host Immaculata, December 4.
