The Misericordia University women's basketball team extended the winning streak to seven with a 74-54 victory over Immaculata, Wednesday night at the Anderson Center.
Jordan Barth led the team with 17 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 9-9 from the foul line and Tessa Zamolyi had 13 points and 13 rebounds.Â
Erica Haefele tallied 14 points and five rebounds and Gianna Delfino added eight points and 10 rebound and four blocks.
The Cougars jumped out to an early lead courtesy of a 14-0 run in the first quarter. Barth had seven in a row with a nice three-point play after getting fouled hard on the right side.
Emma Hayes sent a dime to Zamolyi on the right side of the paint and she put it in to extend the lead to 16-4.Â
Morgan Haefele caught a pass in the right corner and hit a three off a pass from Zamolyi with 7:38 left in the first half.
E. Haefele extended the Cougars lead to 34-13 after finding open space and hitting a deep three from the left wing.
Misericordia led, 40-20, at halftime and maintained a 20-point lead throughout the remainder of the game.
Delfino scored off the glass driving to the hoop hard and drawing a foul to put MU up 61-32 to start the fourth quarter.
Zamolyi capped her day off with a deep three to give the Cougars their biggest lead of the night, 69-34, with 6:02 remaining in the game.
Misericordia will travel to Marywood, Saturday at 1 p.m.
