The Misericordia University women's basketball team placed six players in double figures in a 107-86 win at Gwynedd Mercy, Saturday.
Tessa Zamolyi,
Gianna Delfino and
Jordan Barth all had double-doubles as the Cougars improved to 2-0.
Zamolyi had 24 points and 19 rebounds and Delfino had 20 points and 12 rebounds while Barth added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Erica Haefele had 16 points and Nora Tracy and
Morgan Haefele added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The Cougars trailed 36-35 with 2:21 left in the second quarter, but closed the period on a 10-2 run.
Tracy's layup put MU in front for good, 37-36, and M. Haefele scored five points in the final minute to give the Cougars a 46-39 halftime lead.
Zamolyi converted a three-point play late in the third quarter and closed the period with a fast break jumper as the Cougars used a 31-18 surge to take a 77-57 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Elizabeth Fasti hit a three-pointer as the Cougars opened the fourth quarter with six straight points to take an 84-57 lead.
The Cougars will host Dickinson, Wednesday at 7:00.
