The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season, 13-4, at the University of Scranton, Tuesday.
Kaila Quinlivan had two goals and an assist and
Lexee Willey scored twice for the Cougars.
Brianna Ladner had six draw controls, two caused turnovers and two groundballs.
Quinlivan gave the Cougars an early 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal in the opening minute.
After Scranton tied the score less than 20 seconds later, Willey scored unassisted to put MU up, 2-1, at 28:01.
After Scranton again answered in just 20 seconds and Quinlivan put the Cougars back in front, 3-2, with 25:54 to in the first half.
The Royals tied it with 15:28 to go and scored five goals in the final 6:22 of the half to take a 7-3 halftime lead.
Scranton scored five more goals in the first 16 minutes of the second half to build a 12-3 lead.
Willey scored MU's final goal with an assist from Quinlivan with 12:11 to play and Scranton added a goal with 11:00 remaining.
Maggie McGovern made 12 saves in goal for the Cougars.
Misericordia will visit Marywood, Thursday at 4:00.
