The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team used a big second half to secure a 15-4 win at Marywood, Thursday afternoon.
Leading 5-3 at halftime, the Cougars scored nine unanswered goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to take a 14-3 lead.
Kaila Quinlivan led Misericordia with five goals and an assist and
Amy Roth added three goals and two assists.
Emily Connell and
Amanda Rackliff scored two goals each and
Katie Reilly and
Sarah Bender both had a goal and an assist.
Lexee Willey added a goal and
Justine Johnson had two assists.
Brianna Ladner had eight draw controls and seven groundballs and
Kristen Ritter had three groundballs.
Maggie McGovern made nine saves to earn her third win.
Marywood took a 1-0 lead in the opening minute, but Willey pulled the Cougars even three minutes later.
Roth scored two of Misericordia's next four goals as the Cougars took a 5-1 lead with 10:16 to play in the first half.
Marywood answered with two goals in a two-minute span to cut Misericordia's lead to 5-3 at halftime.
Quinlivan scored three goals in the first eight minutes of the second half, with two coming on feeds from Roth, and Johnson assisted on goals by Reilly and Connell as the Cougars took a 10-3 lead.
Bender followed with an unassisted goal and then assisted on a Roth goal to make it 12-3 less than 10 minutes into the second half.
Connell added a short-handed goal and Quinlivan scored with 15:15 to go to make it 14-3.
Marywood got a goal back with 12:10 remaining and Rackliff closed the scoring with a short-handed goal with 2:54 left.
Misericordia, 3-1, will visit Montclair, Saturday.
