The Misericordia University men's lacrosse team jumped to an early and never looked back in an 18-9 win over Kalamazoo, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Brandon Winslow had six goals and an assist and Nick Torzilli added three goals and four assists.

Patrick Luzzi had four goals and an assist and Sean McSwiggan added three goals and two assists.  Paul Hanrahan scored twice and had one assist.

Matt Beck made nine saves in the first three quarters to earn the win in goal.

Kalamazoo opened the scoring early in the first period, but Hanrahan found Winslow in stride charging down the middle to tie the game with 9:19 left in the opening quarter.

Luzzi scored three of the next four goals and Torzilli added a goal as the Cougars took a 5-1 lead late in the period.

Winslow again answered a Kalamazoo goal with 15 seconds left in the first quarter to give MU a 6-2 lead.

The Cougars built a 16-5 lead before Kalamazoo tallied four goals over the final 20 minutes.

MU will host DeSales in a game that will be televised by WQMY, Wednesday at 7:30.
