The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team won its eighth straight game and clinched the top seed in the MAC Freedom with a 20-4 win at King's, Wednesday.
Kaila Quinlivan led the Cougars with seven goals and
Amy Roth added four. Quinlivan set a new school single-season scoring mark with 86 points, surpassing the 85-point total that she established a year ago and shared with Nicole DeAngelis.
Shae O'Leary had two goals and an assist while
Justine Johnson and
Lauren Weitzel each had a goal and two assists.
Allysa Delgadillo scored two goals and
Kristen Ritter had a goal, six draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Maggie McGovern made 10 saves in goal as the Cougars improved to 11-5 overall and 6-0 in the MAC Freedom.
King's took a 1-0 lead just over two minutes into the game and held the Cougars scoreless for the first 10 minutes.
Roth got the Cougars on the board with 19:25 to play in the first half and put MU in front with a shorthanded goal just over a minute later.
Quinlivan followed with another man-down goal and gave the Cougars a 4-1 lead with 14:44 to go in the first half.
Lexee Willey scored unassisted to give MU a 5-1 lead.
The Cougars put the game away with a 5-0 run over the final minutes of the half to take a 12-3 lead.
Misericordia opened the second half with another 5-0 run to take a 17-3 lead.
MU will host Delaware Valley in their regular season finale, Saturday.
