The Misericordia University men's soccer team defeated Widener, 3-1, Saturday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
John Caracappa, Dylan Molyneaux and Cody Rogers all scored for the Cougars while Alexei King and Levi Roberts each added an assist.
After Widener took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute, Caracappa secured a rebound off a blocked shot and lofted a shot into the upper left corner from 20 yards out at 21:15.
King sent a perfect pass off a corner kick to Molyneaux who rifled a shot past the goal keeper inside the right post to give MU a 2-1 lead at 43:49.
Rodgers extended MU's lead to 3-1 on a diving header inside the right post at 62:15.
Dominic Pizzi made five saves, including a diving save on a shot from six yards out, to earn the win.
Misericordia will host Stevens in their first MAC Freedom game of the year, Saturday at 5 p.m.​
