The Misericordia University men's soccer team appeared to be headed for their its third straight overtime game, but Arcadia scored the game's only goal in the 87
th minute to hand the Cougars their first loss, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Patrick Hoffman had nine saves in goal, including a diving stop in the 17
th minute to keep the game scoreless.
Levi Roberts gave the Cougars a solid scoring chance off a re-start from 40 yards out in the 30
th minute, but the Knights' keep made the save.
Alexei King was denied from five yards out in the 39
th minute.
Tom Vaccaro nearly gave the Cougars a lead off a nice feed from
Ethan Benedict in the 83
rd minute, but his shot was just high.
The Cougars will host Scranton, Tuesday.
