The Misericordia women's basketball team fell to DeSales, 74-46, Saturday in the Anderson Center on Senior Day.
Jordan Barth, the team's lone senior was recognized and honored by her teammates, coaches and the Anderson crowd prior to the game during Senior Appreciation Day festivities.
Tessa Zamolyi, who led the Cougars with 18 points and 6 rebounds, hit a jumper beyond the arc and followed with a layup to give MU a quick 5-0 lead.
But, the Bulldogs went on a 22-5 run to finish the first quarter with a 22-10 lead.
Zamolyi began the second quarter with another three-pointer to cut the deficit to 22-13 then
Erica Haefele drew an offensive foul on DeSales with 8:12 remaining in the second quarter to give the Cougars some momentum.
The sister duo of Erica and
Morgan Haefele both hit back-to-back threes in the fourth quarter with 3:00 remaining.
Erica Haefele had eight points for the Cougars. Barth and
Alyssa Bondi both contributed with five.
The Cougars suffered their first home loss of the season to fall to 20-3 overall and 10-2 in the MAC Freedom.
Misericordia will travel to King's, Tuesday.
